Care/Details
- Light
Caladium Lucia loves bright, filtered sunlight or light afternoon shade. Avoid placing it in direct sunlight, as its delicate leaves can scorch.
- Watering
Maintain consistently moist soil during the growing season but avoid overwatering, as the plant is sensitive to soggy soil. Caladium prefers for the soil to dry out slightly between waterings. Regularly check the topsoil for dryness to find the right balance.
- Humidity
Being native to tropical rainforests, Caladium Lucia thrives in high humidity. Mimic its natural environment by misting the plant, using a humidity tray, or placing it in a room with naturally higher humidity, such as a bathroom.
- Temperature
Keep this tropical beauty in warm conditions between 18°C and 29°C. Avoid exposing it to drafts, cold temperatures, or sudden fluctuations, as these can damage its delicate leaves.
- Soil
Use a well-draining potting mix rich in organic matter to ensure proper aeration and moisture retention. A blend of peat moss, perlite, and compost works well for Caladium Lucia.
- Fertilizer
Feed sparingly during the growing season with a diluted, balanced fertilizer to support its vibrant foliage. Reduce feeding during the dormant period to avoid over-fertilizing, which can harm the plant.
- Dormancy
During cooler months, Caladium Lucia may enter a dormancy phase where its foliage dies back. This is normal—reduce watering and let the plant rest until new growth begins in spring.
